Are you interested in becoming a builder or a construction project manager or maybe just a construction manager in the construction trade, well then this is the program that you may be looking for. Americation Career and Trade School now offers a program that provides you the knowledge of various elements in the building phases of a construction project. The elements of this program includes the materials used in construction, reading the architect blueprints, methods used in the construction process, estimating jobs in construction and finally the construction job-site management. Our construction project manager program is designed to prepare individuals to understand the process of construction from the conception phase to the completion phase. 

 

Project Manager vs Construction Manager

The project manager looks at the overall management of the construction job-site, where as the construction manager is more focuses towards the construction aspect only.  This program will focus on both the project management and construction management aspects of the construction trade. 

 

The construction project manager program is designed to prepare individuals to become a project manager or construction manager for construction sites. So if you are willing to enter the construction trade or are already working in the construction trade and would like to get in-depth knowledge of the construction trade, you can enroll in our CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER program.

Module 3: Reading and Understanding Blueprints

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify the profession that is involved in creating the blue prints.

  • Describe the drawing in building plans.

  • Identify the floor plan of the building looking at the construction blueprints. 

  • Able to identify the different pages of the blueprints such as foundation, framing, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, exterior, etc.

  • Able to identify various types of elevations, section and views when reading blueprints.

  • Understand the rough grading and clearing.

  • Identify the accurate location of the building to be constructed.

  • Identify the pages in the blueprint for footing and the steps involved as per the building codes for footing.

  • Describe the importance of record keeping throughout the project from conception to completion, this may include all the administrative paperwork involved in the construction project right from the blueprints to the final certificate of occupancy received at project completion

  • Be able to solve any issues that arises in the project and be able to negotiate common ground to work towards the goal of the project management. 

  • Able to handle meetings with the contractors and subcontractors as an when needed as per the planned schedule.
